I’m asked, more than you can imagine, about using essential oils for libido.  I’m not surprised, actually.  Sexual desire, for both men and women, can fluctuate.

Studies across the globe including , thousands of women of all ages, have shown that between 30-50% of women have experienced long periods of little or no sex drive.

For many people it’s the increasing stresses and strains of modern-day life that leads to a lack of sexual desire. This not only affects our sex life but can also affect our self-esteem, energy levels, sexual responses and our relationship with our partner. Medical conditions may also play a factor in a lowered libido.

What can you do to increase libido?  Can you use essential oils for increased libido? If so, how do they work? Which essential oils for libido should you use?

I’m going to cover all of that in this post and even give you some ooh-la-la bedroom recipes to try.

First, let’s talk about why libido might decrease.  There are numerous reasons that affect both men and women.  They range from physical, emotional and even relationship factors.

What Can Contribute to Low Libido?

  • Fatigue and lack of sleep
  • A negative body image or low-self-esteem can impact your ability to express your sexual desire
  • Chronic stress, depression, and anxiety is often linked to lower sex drive. 
  • Overconsumption of alcohol can reduce sex drive

Research shows essential oils can support healthy blood pressure , blood sugar levels and reduce inflammation in the body.

How to Use Aromatherapy in the Bedroom: Essential Oils for Libido

Here are some FABULOUS aromatherapy blends to boost your sex drive. You can also get creative with your use of essential oils for libido – mix a few up from those listed above and see what you like and “gets you going” (wink)

Keep in mind that with essential oils, less is often more and safety note! – Do not use more than one drop of strong oils such as Black Pepper or Ginger!



Passionate Pulse Point Perfume

¾ ounce (20ml) Jojoba Oil

4 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil

1 drop Ginger essential oil

5 drops Grapefruit essential oil

Love Potion Rollerball Blend

4 drops Jasmine essential oil
4 drops Rose essential oil
4 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil

Carrier oil of your choice

Add the essential oils to a 10 mL glass rollerball bottle and fill with your chosen carrier oil. Replace the rollerball top and cap and shake gently to combine. Apply to pulse points, especially behind the ears and down decolletage.


Rendezvous Couples Bath Blend

1⁄4 cup Epsom salts
2 drops Clary Sage essential oil
2 drops Geranium essential oil
1 drop Ylang Ylang essential oil

Dissolve the Epsom salts in a warm bath and then add the essential oils.

Absolutely Arousing Aromatic Bath

  • 1 cup of Epsom salts,
  • 2 tbsp. of baking soda
  • 2 drops Clary Sage essential oil
  • 2 drops Patchouli essential oil
  • 2 drops Neroli essential oil
  • 2 drops Orange essential oil

Dissolve the Epsom salts in a warm bath and then add the essential oils.


Hedonistic Heaven Massage Oil 

  • 10 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil 
  • 10 drops Jasmine essential oil
  • 10 drops Sandalwood essential oil 
  • 10 drops Clary Sage essential oil
  • 10 drops lavender essential oil
  • 6 tablespoons of fractionated coconut oil

Spice It Up Massage Blend

  • 2 drops Sandalwood essential oil
  • 1 drop Cinnamon essential oil
  • 2 drops Orange essential oil
  • Carrier oil of your choice

Stimulating Massage Oil

  • 2 drops Rosemary essential oil
  • 1 drop Black Pepper essential oil
  • 5 drops Orange essential oil
  • 1 ounce (30ml) carrier oil of your choice

Teasing Tryst Massage Oil

  • 4 drops Clary Sage essential oil
  • 5 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
  • 2 drops Neroli essential oil
  • 1 drop Black Pepper essential oil
  • 1 ounce (30ml) carrier oil of your choice

Alternatively, you could use the Young Living Sensation Massage Oil which contains many amazing essential oils for libido (Ylang Ylang, Coriander, Bergamot, Jasmine, and Geranium)



Salacious Room Spray

  • 2 ounces witch hazel
  • 8 drops Rose essential oil
  • 8 drops Jasmine essential oil
  • 6 drops Sandalwood essential oil
  • 6 drops Bergamot essential oil


This is the best way to get a continual dose of the aromatic constituents while you’re “rolling in the hay”.   

Get in the Mood Diffuser Blend

  • 2 drops Neroli essential oil
  • 2 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 1 drop Sandalwood essential oil
  • 1 drop Ylang Ylang essential oil

Between the Sheets

  • 3 drops Clary Sage essential oil
  • 2 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
  • 2 drops Bergamot essential oil

Roll in the Hay

  • 3 drops Sandalwood essential oil
  • 2 drops Lavender essential oil
  • 2 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil

Delightful Desire

  • 2 drops Clary Sage essential oil
  • 2 drops Stress Away essential oil blend
  • 2 drops Cedarwood essential oil

Hot and Heavy

  • 3 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
  • 2 drops Cinnamon Bark essential oil
  • 1 drop Orange essential oil
